Each person will advise the program in which it is convenient to work. People tend to inflate the dignity of what is close to them and disparage unfamiliar things. No need to run with a bundle of money for Pro Tools just because someone called it the best DAW.
Platform means nothing
The operating system in which DAW operates does not affect the capabilities of the software. Choosing a program to record music, focus on the operating system of your computer, but no more. 95% of digital workstations are shipped for both PCs and Macs, and some support Linux.
Some DAWs are available only for specific operating systems.
