To run the update troubleshooter, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

• Go to system settings.
• Navigate the Update and Security option and click on it.

Method 4: System File Checker Scan

Here we will use the SFC scan tool and to access this tool. You have to use the command prompt with administrator privileges. Without administrator privileges, SFC can’t work. Follow the steps mentioned below to eliminate the error code 0x80070490.

 

1. Navigate to the start button and click on it.
2. In the start window, search for “cmd“.
   
3. Command Prompt will appear, Right-click on it.
4. Select the option “Run as Administrator”.
   
5. Command Prompt window will appear, now type “sfc/scannow”.

7. The system will run some process, and once the scan is finished, results will appear on your screen.
   Note: This scanning process may take up to 20 minutes, so be patient.
8. If the result indicates that the CBS Store is corrupted, then run the following command in the same window.
   Note: If no such error appears then you can skip this step.Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
   
9. Once the cleaning process is finished, then close the Command Prompt window.
10. Press Windows key + R and open the Run window.
11. In the Run window, type “services.msc”, hit enter.
12. Navigate the “windows update” option and right-click on it.
    
13. Select the Restart option.
14. Now, Restart your device.

 

Once your device is restarted, try to update the windows 10 again, this time you won’t get any errors.
