Xbox Series X Vs PlayStation 5

There is very little doubt that the world has seen some very drastic changes since the birth of computing systems. These kinds of changes were seen in all industries ranging from finance to medicine to food. When it comes to the field of recreation, there is no kind of technological development that is more important than the evolution of gaming consoles. Tons of folks claim to be addicts of gaming, In fact, their claims are also backed up by statistics. Statista – a German company founded approximately fifteen years ago known for statistics research – said, two years ago in the year 2020, that there is roundabout three billion gamers on Planet Earth. When we talk about the prevalence of the pandemic and the growth in access to computing devices, we can only expect that that number has risen drastically over the past two years. All of the people were restricted to their abodes and were desperately in need of sources of entertainment.

In this scenario, it is understandable why video gaming consoles hold so much significance. Realizing that so many people are fans of gaming and want to have as good a gaming experience as possible, we have predicted that there are many people who are currently facing the choice of purchasing the PlayStation 5 — the latest gaming console of Sony Interactive Entertainment – and the Xbox Series X – the flagship and most recently released console by Microsoft.  Through this article, we hope you will be able to get a better sense of which of the aforementioned consoles suits your preferences the best. Alternatively, if you have a console that belongs to the previous generation and you are on the fence about upgrading to a console of the next generation, this article will also be of use to you. Notably, you are not alone if you have not yet upgraded. After all, the number of previous-generation consoles sold is in the hundreds of millions while the number of current-generation consoles sold amounts to merely the tens of millions.

A Tangent of Significance

Whether you are playing on the PlayStation 5 or one of the Xbox Series consoles or even any console of the previous generations, your gaming experience will be heavily impacted by the quality of your connection to the network of networks called the internet. In the case that you come to think about it, the last thing your online gaming partners would like to witness is your character remaining still not doing anything as, at that point, your internet is slow and your connection is lagging. If you do not believe that your internet is up to the mark or in the scenario that you do not yet even have a connection, we would recommend that you subscribe to one of the Xfinity internet plans. Once you are subscribed to one of its packages, Xfinity will make sure that you get speedy and dependable internet just like all the rest of its subscribers throughout the United States of America.

The Comparison

So here is how we are going to about this in this piece of writing. We will talk about an aspect of gaming and then compare that aspect in both the gaming consoles. For instance, while talking about graphics,

Graphics

It is no surprise that both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X have graphics better than any of the gaming consoles of the previous generations. Both of their graphics are actually pretty similar in terms of specs. They both can enable resolutions as high as 8K and one hundred and twenty frames per second. Needless to say, these resolutions will not be available in all titles on any of the consoles in question. In addition to that, they both have a sixteen-gigabyte GDDR6 graphics processor built into them. However, no matter how similar the two rivals are, one must trump the other in something. And that something is the number of teraflops in each. Teraflops reflect the power of a graphics processing unit in a way that the higher the number of teraflops in a console, the more powerful the graphics processing unit is in it. While the GPU of the PlayStation 5 features approximately ten teraflops, the graphics processing unit of the Xbox Series X has twelve – a very impressive figure indeed. Thus, if we were to compare the two consoles in question in terms of graphics, we would say that the Xbox Series X has a slight edge indeed.

Design

The consoles are indeed very different. The PlayStation 5 has a reverse-Oreo aesthetic with a central black box surrounded by two white wings, On the other hand, the Xbox Series X is a rectangular box that is supposed to be placed vertically (the height should be more than the width) and has a grille on top to allow for air to diffuse off. After all, a console with specs as powerful as the Xbox Series X is supposed to produce a lot of heat!

Price

Just like the graphics of both consoles, the prices of both consoles are not very different at all. In fact, they are exactly the same as both the consoles are priced at USD 499. We believe they are both good deals as they compete with gaming personal computers and it is very difficult to find a gaming personal computer at this price.

Think that paying five hundred dollars for a console is too much for you? In that case, both Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment have released cheaper alternatives for you. Microsoft’s cheaper version is the Xbox Series S – the successor to the Xbox One S. You can buy the Xbox Series S at a price as low as three hundred dollars! On the other hand, the cheaper version of the PlayStation 5 is the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. This console is priced at four hundred US dollars. None of the cheaper versions have a disc drive and in the case of the Xbox Series S, the quality is slightly worse as compared to the Xbox Series X as well.

Conclusion
It will give us so much pleasure if this post has helped you choose whether the PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X is better for you.
